COMMITMENT TO TRANSPARENCY

SmartContentGuard ("SCG") believes that transparency is fundamental to building trust with its users. This document details in a clear and accessible manner how we process, store, and protect data related to the use of our browser extension.

2. FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES

Our approach to data processing is based on the following principles:

We collect only the data strictly necessary for the extension's operation.

2.2. Local Processing

Whenever possible, data is processed locally in the user's browser, without transmission to external servers.

2.3. User Control

You maintain control over your data and can disable features involving information collection.

2.4. Security by Design

We implement security measures from the software's conception.

3. DATA PROCESSED BY THE EXTENSION

3.1. Web Page Content

What we process Text and HTML structure of pages containing aeronautical information (NOTAMs, weather data, charts).

Where it is processed Exclusively in your browser (local processing).

Is it stored? No. Data is processed in real-time and discarded after processing.

Is it transmitted? No. It remains in the local browser environment.

Purpose: To identify and visually highlight critical operational safety information.

3.2. Settings and Preferences

What we store: Language preferences, visual themes, custom filters, notification settings.

Where it is stored: Browser localStorage (local storage).

Is it transmitted? No. It remains in the local browser environment.

User control: Can be cleared at any time via extension or browser settings.

Purpose: To personalize the user experience and persist your preferences across sessions.

3.3. Usage and Diagnostic Data (Optional)

What we collect (if enabled)

  • Browser type and version

  • Anonymous feature usage statistics (e.g., how many times a highlighting feature was used)

  • Error and crash reports (crash logs).

How it is collected: Only if you opt-in to share diagnostic data in settings.

Is it anonymous? Yes. Does not include personal identification.

Where it is stored Secure error analysis servers (if applicable).

Purpose: To improve software stability and develop new features.

How to disable: Go to Settings > Privacy > Uncheck "Share diagnostic data" (if applicable).

4. DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT

For your peace of mind, we explicitly declare that we do NOT collect:

  • Personal identification data (name, SSN, passport, address, phone, email)

  • Complete browsing history;

  • Passwords or access credentials;

  • Banking or financial data

  • Precise geolocation information

  • Content of private communications (emails, messages)

  • Data from other apps or browser tabs unrelated to AIS/AIM

  • Biometric information

5. BROWSER PERMISSIONS

SmartContentGuard requests the following browser permissions:

  • Justification To process the active tab content only when you interact with the extension.

  • Data Accessed: HTML content of the current tab

  • Usage: Analysis of NOTAMs and weather data on the visited page.

storage

  • Justification To save your preferences and settings locally.

  • Data Accessed: User's local settings (themes, filters, favorite aerodromes).

  • Usage: To persist your customizations across sessions.

tabs

  • Justification To manage interaction with browser tabs.

  • Data Accessed: Title and URL of tabs (solely to identify AIS/AIM pages).

  • Usage: To detect compatible sites and control extension behavior.

contextMenus

  • Justification To add options to the right-click menu.

  • Data Accessed: User-selected text (only when requested).

  • Usage: Quick shortcuts to analyze specific NOTAM segments.

downloads

  • Justification To allow export of reports and backups.

  • Data Accessed: Data you choose to export.

  • Usage: Save settings (backup), export analyses to PDF/TXT (future feature).

Permissions Security and Privacy

Important All permissions are used exclusively for the described purposes and only within the context of sites containing aeronautical data.

SmartContentGuard:

  • ✅ DOES NOT access content from non-aviation websites.

  • ✅ DOES NOT monitor general browsing history.

  • ✅ DOES NOT collect data from other tabs or extensions.

  • ✅ DOES NOT transmit information to external servers.

  • ✅ DOES NOT track your online activity.

Revocation You may revoke all permissions at any time by uninstalling the extension via chrome://extensions or the equivalent location in your browser.

6. DATA SHARING

6.1. No Sale of Data

SmartContentGuard NEVER sells, rents, or trades user data.

6.2. Limited Sharing

Data may be shared only in the following situations:

Technical Service Providers: Companies assisting with hosting, error analysis, or infrastructure, under confidentiality agreements.

Legal Requirement: When required by court order or competent authority.

Protection of Rights: To defend legal rights, prevent fraud, or protect user safety.

6.3. International Transfer

If data is processed by service providers located outside Brazil, we ensure compliance with LGPD through appropriate contractual clauses.

7. DATA RETENTION

Local settings: Until you uninstall the extension or clear browser data.

Diagnostic data (anonymous): Up to 12 months after collection.

Bug reports: Until issue resolution + 90 days.

8. DATA SECURITY

We implement the following security measures:

8.1. Technical Measures

  • Encryption of sensitive data in local storage

  • HTTPS communications for any data transmission (if applicable)

  • Validation and sanitization of data inputs

  • Execution context isolation (browser sandbox)

8.2. Organizational Measures

  • Restricted system access to authorized personnel

  • Information security policies

  • Monitoring of suspicious activities

  • Security incident response process

8.3. Limitations

No system is 100% secure. Although we implement security best practices, we cannot guarantee absolute protection against sophisticated attacks or zero-day vulnerabilities.

9. YOUR RIGHTS (LGPD / GDPR / CCPA)

You have the following rights regarding your data:

Access: Request information about what data we hold about you

Correction: Request correction of incorrect or incomplete data.

Deletion: Request elimination of unnecessary data.

Portability: Receive your data in a structured format.

10. COOKIES AND TRACKING

10.1. SmartContentGuard Does Not Use First-Party Cookies

The extension does not create or store cookies for tracking or behavioral analysis.

10.2. Interaction with Third-Party Cookies

The extension may read cookies from visited sites only when necessary to:

  • Maintain active sessions in AIS/AIM systems

  • Process authenticated data securely

Important: The extension does not modify, transmit, or share third-party cookies.

11. AUDIT AND VERIFICATION

11.1. Open Source (Planned)

We are evaluating the possibility of publishing the extension's source code in a public repository for community audit.

11.2. Transparency Reports (Planned)

We will publish annually (if applicable) reports on:

  • Data requests by authorities

  • Relevant security incidents

  • Aggregated usage statistics (anonymous)

12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

Significant changes to this Transparency Policy will be communicated through:

  • Notification within the extension

  • Publication on the official website

  • Email (if you have voluntarily registered)
