SmartContentGuard (“SCG”, “Software”, “we”, or “our”) is software owned by Smart Content Guard LLC, a company incorporated under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States of America (“Owner” or “Controller”).

We respect the privacy of our users and are committed to protecting any personal data that may be collected or processed during the use of our browser extension.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and what your rights are with respect to this information, in accordance with:

- California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)

By installing and using SmartContentGuard, you agree to this Privacy Policy and to the Terms of Use (EULA).
2. DATA WE COLLECT
SmartContentGuard was engineered with a focus on user privacy. The extension operates locally within your browser, processing aeronautical information (NOTAMs, AIS/AIM data) directly in the user's environment.
2.1. Locally Processed Data
- Content of visited web pages containing aeronautical information (NOTAMs, weather bulletins, aeronautical charts);
- Extension preference settings (language, themes, custom filters).
Important: This data is processed locally in your browser and is NOT transmitted to external servers, except where expressly stated in this Policy.
2.2. Usage and Diagnostics Data (Optional)
If you opt-in to share anonymous usage data for software improvement, we may collect:
- Technical browser information (type, version);
- Feature usage statistics (anonymous and aggregated);
- Error and crash reports (crash logs).
Legal basis: When diagnostic data submission is enabled, Smart Content Guard LLC acts as the controller of this data and uses it under legitimate interest to improve performance, stability, and security of the Software, without prejudice to the User’s right to disable such submission at any time in the extension settings.
2.3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identification (name, SSN/Tax ID, address, phone number);
- Complete browsing history;
- Passwords or access credentials;
- Content of private communications;
- Precise geolocation data.
- Sensitive data (racial/ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health data, biometrics)
3. HOW WE USE DATA
Any data collected or processed is used exclusively to:
- Provide the extension's core functionalities (visual analysis of NOTAMs, highlighting of critical information);
- Improve user experience and fix bugs;
- Develop new features and enhance existing ones;
- Ensure software security and stability.
4. DATA SHARING
SmartContentGuard does not sell, rent, or trade users’ personal data.
Non‑sale statement (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell Users’ personal information as defined under California law.
Data may be shared only in the following situations:
- With technical service providers (hosting, error analysis), under contracts that ensure adequate data protection;
- When required by court order or competent authority;
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of SmartContentGuard, its users, or third parties.
5. STORAGE AND SECURITY
5.1. Local Storage
The majority of data processed by the extension is stored locally in your browser, using native APIs (localStorage, IndexedDB), and remains under your control.
5.2. Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including:
- Encryption of sensitive data;
- Restricted access control;
- Security monitoring.
DATA RETENTION
Locally processed data remains in your browser until you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data.
Anonymously collected diagnostic data may be retained for up to 12 (twelve) months for software improvement purposes.

8. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
SmartContentGuard does not use proprietary cookies. The extension may interact with visited site cookies solely to provide its functionalities (aeronautical content analysis) but does not collect, modify, or transmit these cookies.
Note: This Policy refers exclusively to the browser extension. If our website uses analytics or cookies, this will be addressed in a separate policy.
9. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFER
SmartContentGuard processes data locally in your browser. If and when diagnostic data is collected, it may be processed by service providers located in:
- United States (hosting servers).
- European Union (CDN and network infrastructure).
These transfers are carried out based on:
- Standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission
- Providers’ adequacy certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
- The User’s informed consent when accepting this Policy.

10. BROWSER PERMISSIONS AND TECHNICAL SCOPE
SmartContentGuard uses browser permissions only to the extent necessary to analyze aeronautical content (such as NOTAM, METAR, and TAF) on supported official domains (AISWEB, REDEMET, Aviation Weather, EUROCONTROL, and equivalent authorities) and to apply the extension’s security and usability features.
These permissions are not used to collect broad browsing history or to send personal data to external servers. In summary:

The use of these permissions is always restricted to previously mapped official aeronautical domains and has the sole purpose of increasing operational safety and the efficiency of aeronautical information reading by the user.
11. SECURITY INCIDENT NOTIFICATION
In the event of a security incident that may pose a risk or material harm to the personal data of data subjects, the Data Controller will notify affected individuals as required by applicable law, providing:

– Potential risks
– Security measures in place
– Mitigation actions implemented

12. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
SmartContentGuard is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware of any inadvertent collection, we will take necessary measures to delete such data immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through a notice in the extension or on our website.

Any disputes, controversies, or claims arising out of or relating to this Privacy Policy shall be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution mechanisms set forth in the Terms of Use and End User License Agreement (EULA) in effect, which are an integral part of this Policy and should be read in conjunction with it.
